New ride
Simon got to try out his "big boy" stroller this past weekend! We'd still been using the Snap-N-Go with the carseat, but he's about to outgrow that.
No clue why the flash made the edges light up so much. But anyway, we went for a nice stroll outside. Can't wait until we have some good-weather weekends so we can get out lots more!

Timber
A video in which Simon shows off his speedy "army crawl," and his love of throwing his toys around to make a mess. Oh, and his "oh my goodness I'm so excited!" noises.

Gilbert Lake!
Simon visited Gilbert Lake for this first time this past weekend! We were thrilled to be there, particularly because it was Simon's first time (finally!) meeting his Aunt Biz!

He also had great fun playing with pine needles:

And playing inside with new (to him) toys (though he didn't quite get the point of the walker toy yet and preferred to crawl underneath it):

He also finally got to sit in the beautiful Amish rocker that's been waiting for him since well before he was born:

And he also ate in a very old (but still sturdy) high chair that's been at the Lake for several generations:

It only took us a bit over 2 hours to drive there, which was amazingly wonderful. Can't wait to go back!

Lake Michigan!
Yesterday it was pretty nice out, so I took Simon down to Lake Michigan!

He was very happy to just sit and look at the lake for a while, and he kept making little happy noises while he did so. It was so cute that I had to try to get a video of it. Then this happened:
What a silly boy! (Oh - and I cut off another 25 seconds of similar video at the end!)

Video backlog!
Here are a few recent Simon videos... first, Simon feeding himself Cheerios!
Next, doing a little climbing over Mommy's legs:
And finally, playing with a new toy! (With some bonus close-up shots at the end, as he climbed up to see what I was doing with the camera.)

Scenes from a move
Photos from the week of our move:
First, playing at "Aunt" Diane's house, where we stayed for a few days before the move (thank you!)

Sleeping at Diane's in his Pack N Play - he wasn't thrilled to be sleeping in it all the time at first, but settled in all right.

On the plane (taken by 5-year-old Zoe, our very talkative neighbor across the aisle). Simon was thankfully asleep!

First lunch at Potbelly's not far from our apartment - Simon likes pickles!

And when we arrived, Simon started figuring out how to pull himself up on things! The suitcase was the perfect height for him to reach up and pull up on.

Photo backlog!
We're finally getting settled in and have located the cables that connect the camera to the computer, and have a reliable internet connection! So without further ado, here are some of the many Simon photos from the past two (crazy) weeks!
First, with a very cool gift from our friend Chad, who works at GE (who sponsored the Olympics) - the Olympics mascot, Quatchi!

Hey, what are you doin' up there? (Sporting a new 9-month sleeper outfit - he's getting so big!)

Showing an interest in the family business. (He opted for "The Logic of Chemical Synthesis" and "Frontier Orbitals and Organic Chemical Reactions.")

With the coolest going away gift ever (sorry to anyone else who's ever given me one - this one takes the cake) -- a beautiful quilt made by Peter, the director of the Old South Ringers. He even hand-dyed the fabrics, and the ringers all signed the squares! It will find a place on our wall in our future home, but I had to get one photo of Simon with it. :)

And fun with daddy:

More during-and-post-move photos and videos to come!

Quick update from WI
We made it! We're in Wisconsin and survived the journey. Simon was an absolute champ on the flight... he drank a whole bottle on takeoff and then slept for more than half the flight.

More when we are a bit more settled!
