Here he is getting set at the head of the table:
His teachers lit the Shabbat candles (which all of the kids are taught VERY early on are not for touching or blowing out, which they are all very good about), and we blessed the challah and the juice before enjoying them both with oranges for snack:
Simon and all of the kids LOVE the challah:
The first thing he said when he woke up that morning was "I'm the Shabbat boy!"
Then we got to read Simon's favorite book to the class. We brought "Green Eggs and Ham". But first Simon needed to read it. (The other kids found this hilarious.)
Then Daddy and Mommy took turns reading the whole book to everyone:
Then we went to Shabbat sing with the whole school!
Part of Shabbat sing involves dancing. Simon found himself a lovely dance partner :)
