Basketball

Simon has really liked watching other people play basketball for a while.  Last weekend, our neighbor showed us how to lower the basketball hoop in our driveway, and then even lent Simon a small basketball to try it out!  He clearly had a lot of fun.  Now Simon has his own (yellow!) basketball, which he is very excited to bounce whenever he has a chance!

Fun at school

Simon's class has also been doing fun things lately.  They are great about getting the kids outside whenever possible.  Last week they even painted outside!

And this week they did a unit on music.  Here is Simon and one of his best pals, Sabrina, playing a rubber band guitar:

Miss Sarah even played violin!  (I'm amazed that a class full of 2- and 3-year-olds sat and listened!  Simon is barely visible behind Sarah.)

Outside fun

We've definitely been taking advantage of the nicer weather lately!  One day Simon drove his car all the way to the park in our neighborhood.  (Well, I helped by pushing him about half of the way....)

Spring fun

There have been lots of fun little things to enjoy this spring.

First - Purim!  All the kids got to wear costumes to school for their Purim celebration.  We'd planned this to be Simon's 2012 Halloween costume, so you may see this one again!

Chocolate milk.  Simon gets it as a special treat every now and again.  Such as this trip home from the Lake one weekend.  He liked looking at the cows on the box.

And Simon's big boy bed!  We'd taken one side off of his crib, and left it like that for over a month.  Once he was finally sleeping reliably in it, we decided to finish the job and fully convert it to a toddler bed!  He loves it and is very proud of himself.

Night night game

Simon really loves playing "night night" lately. This involves pretending to sleep, along with his various stuffed animals. Usually we are required to sleep on the floor next to Simon's door. Often we are provided a blanket and a stuffed animal (though I wasn't in this video!)

In February they had "pajama day" at daycare.  Here's a pile of happy 2-year-olds that day!

 

We didn't get much snow this winter, so we had to settle for making a Play-Doh snowman:

We made cupcakes for Valentine's Day.  Simon particularly liked the frosting:

We had Simon's friends Isabelle and Lily over to play one evening recently, and we made cupcakes again!

We also had a super-fun weekend when Emily visited us!  She played lots and lots of trains with Simon:

And did a few puzzles too!
