Stumbling

Last week, Simon took his first steps! He let go of Daddy's hand long enough to take about two steps in this video before falling down. He's getting better and better so more soon!

Birthday Fun

Here's a few photos from Simon's 1st birthday, which he got to spend at Gilbert Lake. It was a great day (warm, perfect for swimming), with wonderful family and friends. Thanks all for making it such a great day! Looking forward to celebrating with the Ryba side of the family in a few weeks. :)

Serious talk

Lately Simon has been talking a lot more. He often looks straight at us and pauses after he says something, as if he thinks that we understand exactly what he is saying, and he expects a response. We don't get much of that look in this video, but it's representative of what we hear all the time these days!

At the zoo

On Saturday we went to the zoo! Simon had fun but particularly enjoyed the snow monkeys. He talked to them and waved at them - video below!

After visiting Chetek for the first part of the weekend of the 4th, we went on to Gilbert Lake. Simon got to see Emily & William and Buster again, as well as lots of other people. And he got to swim in the lake for the first time too!

Turning around

Simon got another walker toy from Grandma Barb and Grandpa Jim when we went to Chetek. He very quickly learned how to turn it around himself! He spent lots of time out on the porch doing this.

We had great fun for the first part of the 4th of July weekend in Chetek with Troy's family. Simon got to play in a kiddie pool, meet Teuer (who is approximately 6-7 times bigger than Simon!), have fun with Elise and Allison, and play with new toys. Oh, and model his new dinosaur sun hat. Hooray!

Air mattress

Simon had fun with a partially deflated air mattress last week. Kind of like those bouncy inflatable moonwalk things at the carnival, though on a much smaller scale!
