Really moving

Simon is getting better and better at making forward progress... going to have to work on getting his left arm in to the action, though!

Reading

Simon enjoyed reading "The Runaway Bunny" yesterday!

Or perhaps he just enjoyed chewing on it...

Laundry!

Simon also decided this weekend that the washing machine is pretty cool. Here he is "standing" in front of it watching the clothes spin around and around. It helps that the door is quite indented, as it gave him something to hold on to. (He's not bad at supporting himself on his feet, but can topple over at any time... it was some lucky camera work that let me get these photos, as I was right behind him in case he fell!)

Getting closer...

Simon did even better with his "scootching" forward today... getting his knees under him! We're going to have to start the baby-proofing REALLY soon, methinks.

Forward progress

Simon is clearly starting to get ready to crawl - yesterday we caught video of him sliding himself forward on his tummy! (As opposed to going around and around and around in circles, as he'd been doing for a while.) This morning we saw him getting his knees under him as well - will post pictures soon!

Long weekend photos

We had a fun long weekend! Chewing on toys:

Chewing on toes:

And reading, of course!

(Guess it's upside-down... oh well! The book is "But Not the Hippopotamus")

Mmm, food....

I'm proud to say that I've been making Simon's baby food myself - all of the fruits and vegetables anyway. It's been pretty easy so far and he has loved almost everything we've given him. I cook everything up and puree it in the food processor or the blender, then freeze it in ice cube trays.

In the photo above from top to bottom: sweet potatoes (running low!), pears, green beans, peas and butternut squash. He also eats carrots and apples, and I've made some acorn squash that we haven't given to him yet. I'm excited to have him try bananas and avocados soon too, and neither requires any cooking!

I'm not sure why I decided to feed him his sweet potatoes without a bib this afternoon though. FAIL.
