The best part

Simon recently got a gift in the mail from his Tennessee cousins. We all really enjoyed the contents of the gift! (A bib with an "r" on it, and a small blanket.) But Simon's favorite part, hands down, was the ribbon.

A fun day out

Last weekend, while Troy was in Milwaukee scoping out houses, Simon and I had a fun day out in Boston with my friend Susana. It was a beautiful day out, so we wandered down Newbury Street. Simon was happily chewing on his bear teether toy, and then fell asleep:

He stayed asleep throughout our lunch:

But then woke up for an ice cream stop at JP Licks. And REALLY wanted my ice cream. (Sorry for the poor quality here!)

I'd brought him a lunch of squash, which he ate instead. I made sure to enjoy the fact that he doesn't know the difference between vegetables and ice cream yet...

Simon's new favorite game

Throw things on the floor, and wait for Mommy or Daddy to pick them up!

Laundry help

Simon found it quite entertaining to sit in the laundry basket this past weekend while I put clothes from the washer in to the dryer!

Sippy cups!

We bought a few sippy cups for Simon and have been starting to teach him how to use them. He mostly uses them as toys, for now, but apparently that's normal.

At one point he did actually get it in his mouth properly!

But he didn't get anything out of it, and soon resorted to playing again.

The handles are apparently quite delicious!

Future Bell Ringer!

Last Sunday, I played handbells with the Old South Ringers during the regular church service. I couldn't help it - I had to let Simon play the littlest bell! (C8, for those of you who are bell-savvy.)

He looks like a natural, don't you think???
