When we set up Simon's new room, we added one of our old bookcases to house his growing book collection. We do spend time reading every day, but Simon has other ideas about what is fun to do with his books:

Cabinet mischief

We hadn't gotten around to really organizing the pantry anyway...

Blocks

Simon really loves playing with these blocks. His favorite activity of late is dumping them all out, putting them back in the box, and dumping them all out again!

Sorry for the lack of posting and photos lately. Catching up here!

It's definitely time for Simon to get a haircut. His teachers at daycare accused him of having a mullet, and when we're out with him lately he often gets mistaken for a girl.


Fine, fine, I give in. We'll get it cut. Soon.

He still loves his tubby time!


(In this photo he's sporting his first major walking-related boo boo - he fell forward and hit his head on the edge of a table. Thankfully not a corner. Fortunately this faded quickly and he was fine)

He also loved being a "Big Boy" and sitting in the cart at Costco this past weekend. Especially when he got to play with Daddy's hat.


Finally, we went to the "Out & Out", a Cedarburg institution, for treats on Sunday. Simon enjoyed the custard very much!

Slide

Simon got a super-fun slide for his birthday! It took him almost no time at all to figure out how to go up and down. He goes down very carefully, though!

New tricks in the new house

Simon's been having a blast walking all over the new house. There's so much space! Here he shows off a few of his new tricks - walking around the island in the kitchen, playing with his new refrigerator magnet toys, pushing himself up to standing by himself, and expertly navigating the step from the kitchen to the family room.
