First, here's a picture of Simon at a playground near my parents' house. He had no qualms about going down this big slide all by himself. (And he also climbed back up the slide too!)
On our way to Gilbert Lake, Simon had his first ice cream cone from the Lake Dexter drive-in (a traditional stopping point on the way there):
It was important to Simon to "drive":
And of course he spent lots of time in the lake! His life jacket, which was actually a baby shower gift from my friend Stacy and her family, fit very well this year:
More ice cream on the way back:
Bonus video: first, of an ice cream cone; second, of Simon "skipping". It's more like galloping, but it's still pretty cute. As you will see, we were with Emily and uncle Eric at a golf course waiting for Troy, Grandpa Tom, aunt Sarah and her sister Mary to finish their round before we all had dinner. Yes, we were very, very, very sure that no golf balls were about to fly in our general direction. (Shortly after this video, we had to keep Simon further away as the group actually hit on to the green.)
